    Can anyone advise me.

I had been working full time for years and qualified for FIS in February 2012. My working hours were reduced from 5 days to 3 days so still above the 19 hour requirement. I applied for part-time jobseekers 4 weeks ago and then discovered that my FIS had been cancelled.
I called and found out that you can only claim on or the other so i decided to cancel the jobseekers as this would be worth less.
My FIS has still not been re-activated despite numerous calls to the FIS section who keep telling me that they will put in a request to get it re-activated. It is now going on 3 weeks and looks like it will be at least 4 before i get this sorted.

The fis number seems to be just a call line an they can't ctualy do anything other than see you details and put in a request.

    WHAT DO I DO??

My mortgage is ue out tomorrow and i can't meet the repaymen due to being owed 3 weks FIS.

Theres nothing you can do at all. When you applied for JSA the computerised system immediately cancelled your FIS. Theres no point in remonstrating with anybody, its quite clearon the website and in the booklet accompanying the FIS application form that you cannot get JSA/JSB as well. There is a thread here dealing with the delays in processing FIS applications and renewals.

You should contact your mortgage lender immediately first thing tomorrow and explain the situation. If they wont deal with you contact MABS straight away for more advice.

Thanks but I called again today and the money is due to be paid tomorrow. I guess the calls and e-mails eventually worked.

The website relating to FIS states that you can't get FIS if you already get JSB...I took that to mean that you can't claim FIS after already being on JSB. It's not clear tbh
