    Hey Guys,

Car alarms - is there a huge difference or are they all the same? Honestly like you go to websites and there going on and on about what they do.... I just want it to go mental if someone breaks into like!

Seriously tho... this lad had clifford www.dkcarsystems.com and this lad http://caralarms.ie/ well he seems to have everything under the sun!!!!!

Do i really need to spend like 300-500 euro on an alarm or does it really really matter??

i think build quality really matters, as cheap one might acting sh1te, might will be ok, i had alarm for 40 quid, was really annoying, alarm went off for no reason, i did disconnect all sensors, just left on open door sensor. it is simple to wire up in car, and cant get wrong , most of alarm systems comes with manual . i am planing buy and install that one . otherwise you pay for job 200 quid :)

First off what car is it going into? I used to fit Clifford's and there very good alarms, but there's different options and some versions may be overkill for your car and needs eg you wouldn't really want anti hijack blakjax on an 89 Micra ect.

Directed electronics who make clifford also make variants for different markets, viper avital hornet ect but underneath the majority of them are the same thing component wise and from the same factory so that's why you see a lot more brands on the second site.

But different systems will have different levels of protection, what's your budget too and would you be competent to self install?
