Due to a burst main, the water went off in our area last night. It didn't return until about 5 this evening. However, all the water seems to have drained from the upstairs tank in the attic. How can I refill it. My downstairs boiler is due to be replaced next week as its not working.

Your storage tank is connected to the water main and should refill by itself.

99% of the time its dirt so open the fitting at you ballvalve,,,,clean your orifice in the ballvavle,,,also make sure no taps are on when refilling

mains pressure doesnt really generally airlock,,,dirt is the main problem..

    have a go

If you are going to "have a go" make sure the mains is turned off!

Your main can be easily identified through your kitchen sink, the cold on your ks should be mains, if this is working your mains is on.

If the tank isn't filling and you have no problems with "dirt", there is still a problem with either a burst main or there pressure have been reduced thus not enough pressure to send the water up the pipe and into the tank
