The aerial needs to be connected to the box, not the TV. Normally marked "Ant In" or "RF In". Make sure the aerial is by the window cill (this is not always possible with indoor aerials depending on the length of cable that came with the indoor aerial).

Is it one of these boxes ?

You need to scan for the channels. Go to menu find autotune and click search and let it off doing its scan.

As I said it is important that the indoor aerial is near the window to get a better signal, but still connected to the box. You may have to move the TV to do this I am afraid, depending on how long the cable on the indoor aerial is.

Well either they are wrong or you read it wrong. The TV network is designed for outdoor aerials 10 metres high. That is what you should use. Maybe 10% of the population can possible get away with indoor aerials.

STB yes it is one of those boxes, did the autoscan - still nothing! may have to invest in an outdoor aerial . will keep trying, thanks for the help:)

I had a problem scanning with this box as well but I discovered that if you turn the active antenna setting to off (in the installation setup) then you should be able to pick up the tv /radio channels from your nearest tx.
