Is there a name for this problem with my TV?

Firstly, apologies if I shouldn't be posting this in this forum.

Secondly, would appreciate if someone could take a look at a few of these pics I took of my TV lately. Panasonic ST50 (plasma). Hadn't always displayed this problem. Also noticing some temporary Image Retention when using menu's, this again only started recently. Vertical banding has gotten worse recently as well but its the problem in the following images I haven't a clue what is. Basically wondering have I got a big problem here?

Problem occurs where there's a continuous line in the background of the screen, it affects images in front of it especially people's skin tones.
