4 wisdom removal waiting time

    Hi

    My dentist said I have to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed so referred me to St James Hospitak in Dublin . Dies anybody know how long I would be waiting . I am on the waiting list a year now .

    National Maxillofacial Unit
    What we do
    Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a surgical discipline, which deals with the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of conditions arising on the face, in the jaws, mouth and their environment including the maxilla (upper jaw), mandible (lower jaw), nose, neck and salivary glands. OMFS is unique in that it requires postgraduate training in both dentistry and medicine. The aim of the speciality is to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and surgical service, often in a multidisciplinary manner to our medical and dental colleagues for a defined anatomical area – the Head and Neck
    The Maxillofacial Laboratory provides maxillofacial / orthodontic technical support for the facial deformity, post-traumatic / burns, post -cancer excision, facial pain and importantly facial prostheses

    Appointment Instructions
    Patient referrals are triaged by the Consultants and appointments are arranged via the Consultant’s Secretaries. Patients will be advised of appointments by letter
    Referral Procedures
    Referral via letter / fax to named Consultant in National Maxillofacial Unit, email or if emergency telephone call to Secretary / Consultant as above
    Patients should be encouraged to bring letters, x-rays, previous investigations, models to their appointment.
