My phone (Acer Liquid Mini) won't start up - it gets to the Acer logo and just stays there. I can't get into the CWM either. The only thing I can get to is the fastboot screen using hardware buttons. I have no idea what to do next despite reading a load of tutorials and watching youtube clips.

I think I'm supposed to plug it into a PC and run a fastboot command with some files but I can't get anywhere with it.

fastboot devices doesn't give any result and after that I'm lost.

    Any gurus about?

I can get into download mode (white text on black screen) but have no idea what to do from there either.

What were you doing when it bricked? Trying a new ROM? Installing CWM? Something else?

The Liquid forum on XDA might be useful

I just tried to switch it off, and after it got to the 'Switching off' message it just stayed there for half an hour until I pulled the battery. When I put it back in and switched on I got locked on the Acer startup screen.

You said in your OP that you couldn't get into CWM. Was the phone rooted with a custom ROM?

once you can get into download mode its not bricked.
easy install a custom rom from there.
calm down a few minutes and someone will give you a tutorial

EDIT: had a quick look around seems its not much supported.. there is nothing much on xda forums, they just link to russian sites etc which i cant understand so wouldnt send you down that road.
may be time to upgrade phone ^^

    Hooray for Russian colleagues!

A guy from work was able to flash some mad Russian ROM on it over USB from Download mode. It's the weirdest, tackiest interface but at least it works and from here I should be able to get another one on it. I get the feeling I might have to hassle him again shortly...
