Had a look there at the usual spots I go on the first. They are full with cattle, I wouldnt be a great man for shhoting round cattle as I have found in recent years that they are very aggressive towards my springers, I know some lads will say that they will bugger off if you run at them but not from my experience. whats a man to do:(

If you value your permission dont go shooting in the same field as cattle or you could end up losing it and others too if word spreads.

Best bet is to find another place. Cattle will always go mad with dogs in the field and the bangs wouldnt help either.

This reply is the long and the short of it I agree.. annoying but thats life. Cattle too can be dangerous so you are right to be weary.

I can only agree with the above comments, the cattle will quite likely not give a toss about you or the sound of gunshots but their general behaviour towards dogs tends to be rather hostile. I don't know about yourself but I don't really want to find out what an encounter with a contrary three quarter ton bovine feels like but I reckon it wont be too different from driving your call frontaly into a wall at 30mph without a seatbelt...

I personally of one man not too far away from me who had an encounter with some cattle last year, I can't say too much because of ongoing matters but suffise to say he wasn't feeling the best and it's caused some annoyance with local farmers.

Years of goodwill could be so easily destroyed all for the sake of waiting a week or two for the cattle to be housed for the winter anyway..
