    According to this, you should be able to input the sound of your Sky box, or your UPC/Xbox/PS3 or anything with either optical or coaxial sound output as this has inputs for both. However, as your TV will be processing the picture from HDMI and this unit will be processing the sound, you might see a slight sync issue. I've seen this at home but was able to address it with my UPC box as it had a setting to change it.
