Changing car soon, for a new one. Have looked at Suzuki Swift 1.3 diesel, Citroen DS3 1.6 diesel. Big price difference all right, but the Citroen dealer has offered 5 yr. guarantee and 3 yrs. servicing for 299 E. Our mileage would be about 12,000 miles yearly. Anyone any comments/advice, much appreciated.

New Renault Clio on sale too, I'm sure they will be offering a 5 year warranty too.

With that milage, don't get a diesel. Diesel needs longer trips and not short running around, otherwise you will increase the chances for DMF and DPF failure, not cheap fixes and will not be covered under any warranty.

At near 400km a week, I'd want a diesel. Although to be fair there are some very economical turbo petrols out there.
