Sony VTX-D800 & Saorview

    I need a STB for a Sony hard disc recorder that does not have a digital tuner and I have been offered a STB Sony VTX-D800 at a reasonable price. I recently upgraded the TV and it receives saorview ok but I cannot record anything on the hard disc recorder since the analogue signal was switched off. Would anyone know if the SonyVTX-D800 will decode the signal for the hard disc recorder.

    Absolutely not. Its from 2004 and only decodes MPEG2 video. Saorview use MPEG4 H264 which the tuner in this unit will not decode.
