iPhone 5 plans

Hi Lads, I've been ringing around this morning to Meteor, Three and O2 to find the best deal for getting an iPhone 5. I feel they're all just telling me what I want to hear to get me to go with their network.

I'm currently with Meteor, on a PAYG plan €20 a month for free meteor talk and text, I find this plan great. I don't use Internet on the phone I just use my laptop, but if I get an iPhone I'll want to use the Internet

I want to get a 32gb iPhone. I was looking at Three bill pay this morning, their Classic Flex Max plan is €40.66 a month with free data and 350 flexi units, you pay €239 for the iPhone. This works out at €1,214.84 for the 24 months. The phone is locked to Three though and I've heard Three don't allow tethering as well so I don't think I like this plan.

Meteor bill pay deals don't look much better than what Three are offering.

I was thinking of buying a sim free phone from Apple for €789, and upgrading my PAYG plan to Free Meteor Talk, Text and Internet for €30 top up every month. This plan comes with 1gb of data a month, free talk and text to anyone on meteor and I'll get the €30 credit to spend as well. I also have the option of selling the sim free iPhone a year from now if I get bored with it for €400-500, as I see a lot of the 4s ones going for that now
Does this sound like a good idea?

Is there any other suggestions of what plan to go with?

Go with the standard Three Classic Flex Max SIM free rolling 30 day contract deal and buy your iPhone off Apple.

    €20.33 x 3(3 months at 33% discount in their current deal) = €61
    €30.50 x 21 months = €640.5
Cost of iPhone from Apple = €789

Total cost over 24 months and you're contract free at all times with a factory unlocked iPhone = €1490.50

Cheers, I'll give them a ring tomorrow and ask them about it

How does a rolling contract work?

You only have to give 30 days notice to cancel.

I'd check out eMobile's current offer too, Select 300 has 300 min, 300 texts, 2gb data and unlimited landline for €22.37; it's half price.

    That works out at €536.88 + iPhone @ 789 = €1325.88, again that's a 30 day rolling contract; I've just priced it up over the 24 months.
