Thought this may be of use to someone. Was in Easons in Letterkeny yesterday and they had a HP colour printer for sale at €149. Its the HP 7000 model and prints up to A3 size. No link directly to the Easons offer but the printer can be viewed here

Id imagine its available in all Easons stores.

Not recommended - Officejet 7000 is one of this deals "buy cheap printer and pay loads for inks". It's good if someone prints rarely and not best quality, but if you're professional who print a lot and need good quality, go for something more expensive (at the start).

Like what? Recommendation of an alternative (A3 colour) would be good rather than just the negative.

Not entirely true. While its not as cheap to run as a brother or epson. It takes the 920 cartridges which are single ink tanks. You could get compatibles for these which should work as good as the HP as they are just and ink tank with a chip. No printhead like the dirt cheap printers in tesco and the like. You should be able to get a set of chipped compatibles for about €15-€20 a set on amazon/ebay I'd imagine possibly cheaper. Which is reasonable considering the black xl will have about 50ml of ink.

Its decent for a €149 but if I wanted A3 and cheap to run I'd go for a Brother. Compatibles are absolutely flawless with Brother as long as you maintain the machine.

Haven't seen any A3 printer with not single ink tanks. I presume they exist, but never get crossed one.

I said it's good if one is printing 2 pages a week, some fancy stuff for kind or so. As for recommendation I can only recommend to use laser printer for more professional use. Surely there are some high-end ink printers for high-end quality but they cost far much more than €149
