I work in a petrol garage in Dublin and the guards were in to work last Friday. They wanted to take all the CCTV footage for the 24th of October and they want all the till transactions for the 23rd of October and up until 8pm on the 24th. Just trying to think what it might be. any ideas?

They're probably avid collectors of star wars figures, stamps and used till receipts

they probably wanted to verify an alibi that was given to them ....but if you had posted this in AH I would have said.

TAX Returns need to be filed....they needed the receipts for their expenses.

    Potentially :-

    1. Someone has claimed to them in respect of an investigation that they visited the garage during a particular time period and made a purchase, and they wish to verify/contradict that.

    2. In the course of an investigation they wish to establish that a particular person visited the garage and made a purchase. There may or may not be an importance in what was purchased but for instance, a person is suspected of committing an offence at location A. At that location an item is found - say a cigarette lighter which is somewhat singular, or a magazine etc. On that item are fingerprints linked to a suspect. That suspect may have denied being at location A or have no obvious reason to be there. Identifying suspect A purchasing the item may be of great significance.

    3. The Gardai are investigating a staff fraud type situation involving the till.

Also sure I might as well add that this is not the local station investigating and this is coming from Pearse street.
