These were my favourite sweets as a kid and I have often gone on at length to others about how delicious they were. Walked into the Londis on Grafton St. today and there they were (in big bags). Nestle are labelling them as "New" rather than "They're back" but obviously I snapped up a bag as quickly as possible.

Well, I can now report that they are a shadow of their former selves; the brown-shelled ones aren't too bad, but the white-shelled ones are barely edible. The milk choclate is simply scaldy. Few disappointments in my life have been this acute. I thought I should warn other retro sweet lovers to lower their expectations when approaching these "New" Vice Versas, because they're not like the ones from my youth at all.

There isn't an emoticon sad enough to insert here.
