Should I keep the Samsung Galaxy Note?

Getting the Samsung Galaxy Note later today. It is sim free and brand new in a box. Swapping it for my spare iPhone 4 (32GB).

I have never used Android before. I am a self confessed Apple Fanboy & I have an iPhone 5 since launch day. I need a second phone so I said I would give Android a try & see how I go.

However I am wondering should I keep the Galaxy Note or try get a swap for a Galaxy S3 or a HTC One X or something. They don't have to be new, just in good condition.

The size of the Note doesnt bother me. It won't be my primary phone that I carry so I don't know if i see the size as an advantage or a disadvantage.

Plus, whats the story with software etc? Will the Note have ICS? Will it update to Jelly Bean & that? Sorry, I havent a clue re Android phones.

Any advice? Keep it, swap it etc? Ta...

Yep the size of the original galaxy note would be cause for concern for me!

While it is a powerful phone, its size is too wide, to an extent that it may make holding it with one hand comfortably difficult. Samsung made its successor, the galaxy note 2 less wide and therefore it doesnt cause as much problems holding it in the hand. The galaxy note 2 is my default phone and the best phone I have ever owned (I have owned a long list of Nokia, iPhones and Samsung phones)

Samsung have also made the stylus more user friendly with the galaxy note 2, with more features although there are rumours some of these features are coming to the original galaxy note soon.

The battery is okay but the amoled screens raised questions about its affect on the battery. For example gsmarena.com in its tests found the original galaxy note got around 10 hours of video play, around 15 hours of talktime but only around 4 hours of time for web browsing. The galaxy s3 and galaxy note 2 seem to be getting much more glowing references with regards to battery life whatever efficiencies have been done!

The galaxy note comes with gingerbread (version 2.4) but you shouldnt be long if even waiting for the update to ice cream sandwich (version 4.1 I think)

In my personal opinion you should go for either the galaxy s3 or maybe even have a look at the galaxy note 2 theyre both great phones!
