Masters - Living Allowance?

I'm still undecided as to whether to do a masters or just go the direct entry route. My main concern is that I'm not sure if I can justify another year of not earning and living off my parents.
Does anyone know how much the "living allowance" is when sponsored for a masters by any of the big4?

Sorry I know this is slightly unrelated to the question, but does anyone know when we will get paid our student allowance this year? I was told it would be in November but based on previous years when about in November was it received?
