Check out what our Tv licence money is paying for on this Bank holiday Monday on RTE. Its an absolute disgrace, how much are these clowns earning, to come up with this crap! They can shove the TV licence up their arse!

Dear Sir/Madam - it helps your rant no end when you flesh it out with examples, for instance the Bank Holiday Monday TV schedule.....

....I am shocked. This person is not happy with the prospect of a Sandra Bullock romantic comedy for the nights movie.....

I don't know which is sadder.

    - The shíte stuff on the telly ?
    - The thought of someone staying in to watch telly on a bank holiday ?
    - Moaning in the interweb about the shíte state of the telly ?

Send an email off to RTÉ instead and tell us how you got on.

I propose you assemble a baying mob of angry citizens who are sick to the teeth of those overpaid fat cats in Donnybrook squandering their licence money. March up there, and burn the place to the ground.

Or maybe listen to the radio. I hear books are good at this time of the year also.

    Dear RTÈ,

I am writing to you today to request a refund on my TV license. I would like to cite the following reasons:

Memories of watching Mart and Market followed by an episode of Lolek and Bolek sum up how utterly shít and depressing a wet Sunday afternoon in the 80's could be.

Could you be more specific about the disappointing content which RTE intends to broadcast OP?

RTE is a cult, and Gay Byrne is the leader.

We usually clear away the table and chairs in the Kitchen and dance furiously while we watch Come West along the Road

I'm just disapointed they could not have even shown any of the Dublin Marathon.

Biggest mass participation sporting event in the country and all it will get is a few minutes on the news.

    What do I do?

Went for a spin earlier with herself, the young lad and the dog. Stopped off here for a look. Cool place.

    Had lunch here. Twas nice.

Thinking of going to the comedy festival in town later. She wants to go but I'm not too pushed.

If I was depending on RTÉ Television to help me relax on a Bank Holiday I'd be overdosing on these by now.

Read a book, OP? Or take a walk? Visit a friend? Rant on an online forum? There are many options available to you!

I dont get why people rely purely on tv to entertain them, between the interweb, netflix, the varying catchup players, itunes, cheap dvds and the cinema there's plenty of entertainment around. TV is 99% utter dross anyway bar the odd exceptional tv show like Breaking Bad or the majority of stuff HBO make.
