Google the gross vehicle weight (gvw) for the vehicle. If it's under 3500kg a B licence will cover it.

I did think it was the unladen weight until I checked...

t350 yes, 413 no. Things get interesting when you put stuff into em though.

It all depends on what the plate on the drivers door pillar says. If it has a GDW (Gross Design Weight) of less than 3500kg than you're ok so long as the weight of the van and the cargo is not over 3500kg. A trailer may also count as the cargo.

If the GDW is over 3500kg then you can not drive it, not matter is it empty. If it is plated to be capable of taking a certain KG then you must have a licence for that KG.

If you were buying one you could get it "plated" lower if you wanted to use it as a camper for example.

You shouldn't have to worry about the load once the GVW is <3.5t. That is unless, you intentionally overload it and you risk getting brought to a weighbridge by AGS

Thing is, BX, some of the jumbos only have a legal payload of about 500kg if driven on a B, which doesn't really matter till you crash it. Same as a lot of B class tippers like dynas etc, all they can legally carry is a few hundred kilos...

On our transit plate is actually on the passenger door pillar. Maybe because it's a minibus, but possilby it could be in any other transit. I'm just mentioning.

Not if the trailer is less than 750kg GVW (gross vehicle weight).
So you can drive a transit GVW 3500 fully laden and trailer GVW 750kg, having a set with total GVW of 4250kg you are fine on B licence.
