No. Just came across an old post on boards.ie with some rather car ignorant statements.

    I also like SAAB BTW.

Both Saab and Alfa have been gone for years IMO but at least the Alfa brand still make cars that are much more in line with the names original ethos.

Alfa are struggling, that's obvious, but the line-up these days is very poor. Nearly non-existent at this stage. They made some great cars though over the last 10 and there isn't any car they made I wouldn't like or not drive. However with only two cars in the current line-up it's a bit of a joke.

Not having some sort of SUV these days is a big loss and no replacement for the 159/166 is also silly.

The Saab's line-up was reduced to the 9-3 and 9-5 for far too many years. It never really grew or made new models.

I quite like both Saab (I own one) and Alfa, however I think that Alfa would be the greater loss to car manufacturing .
Saab were run into the ground by GM which was a pity, both the 9-3 and 9-5 were nice cars when they were designed but should have been replaced ages ago. It is just a pity the new 9-5 never got a chance. See one every morning and I would love to give it a go, see if they really went out with a little bang.

They didn't, its an insignia chassis, which is far from bad, but the rest of the car was literally thrown together and put on sale before it was actually finished in a last ditch attempt to make a few quid.

Seemingly they are plagued with issues.
