  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

    Hi there,
I do not but if you semi interested I could ask them at courtlodge to tell me?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87 ✭✭nowwerehurlin

Ah no theres no panic.. Truth be known i wont have the funds to upgrade for another few months :/.. Just wondering if you knew it off hand ..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

I might find out anyway as it's an obvious question. Not as light as a game gun but definately not as heavy as a trap gun either so somewhere in between.

Is it a 686 Silver Pigeon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

    Answers:

Age : Not sure - I bought 5 years ago and used very little. Been in court lodge for last 2. And they were to revert with weight but didn't.

Silver Pigeon? : No. It is very close though. The S stands for sporting. If you look on shootinguk.co.uk forum it asks this very question and note describes the 686S as 'fabulous guns if you can find one' and mine is in immaculate condition.

Actually I think it is a silver pigeon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

Not a silver pigeon - very close.

    Yes it is.

    Is it multi choke?
    Whats your bottom price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

I don't think there is any choke.

I dropped price from €1200 to €1000 and courtlough take 15% so I do it for €940 which leaves me €800.

I'm shooting in courtlough next week so will have a look. Very interested. Will get back to you then. Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

Michael Flynn has it. By all means shoot it if you like - unless they can't allow you. You will see gun is in immaculate condition. Let me know.

I don't know if I can legally sell a gun privately but even if I can I didn't renew my license so I can't remove it myself from courtlodge - without reapplying for a licencse.

Presume gun is still for sale. Does it not come with 5 chokes? As in one of your previous posts you state it has no chokes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

No. Why do you say it has 5 chokes? Slight confusion over over this gun - I don't think its a sporter as advertised if that's why you think its a multi choke. 686s is a special - from what I gather its not a trap or sporter but somewhere in between

    Technical Specification
    Make: Beretta
    Model: 686 Special Sporter
    Type: Over-and-under
    Gauge: 12 g x 70mm (2¾") chambers
    Barrel length: 29½"
    Weight: 7lb 10oz
    Trigger: Single selective (recoil-operated)
    Trigger pulls: 3½lb
    Top rib: 10mm wide RVR
    Chokes: I/C and Half
    Pull length: 14½"
    Cast: Straight
    Drop at heel: 2¼" (55mm)
    Drop at comb: 1" (35mm)
Asking price (S/H): £495 (you should expect to pay at least £100 more if buying a multi-choke model) what I gather its not a trap or sporter but somewhere in between

I think this must be the gun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25 Maxrice

I don't have that gun but that would appear to be it. Note the above is a fixed choke model and it says the multichoke is more but mine is not a multi choke. In courtlodge if you want to see it.
