Write Speed: 5MB/s and Read Speed: 10MB/s according to:

    http://www.picstop.co.uk/sandisk-cruzer-slice-usb-flash-drive-32gb

which means literately 3 hours of writing to fill it up. Useless, unless for some long term data storage or something.

I bought one from Argos and it doesn't plug directly into USB on pc. I had to use an adapter. I needed to transfer data urgently and it let me badly down because of transfer speed. Cheaper than Argos though.

You are correct. While the customer product rating is good, most of the recent reviews complain about the write speed. It is as if, this product was originally good, but then they put in slower/inferior parts, but equally reduced the price.
As the phrase goes, you get what you pay for! So not the bargain I first thought....apologies

    Makes no sense at all.

That's more of a limitation of your PCs usb ports. I had the same problem with the front USBs on a PC i had. Where there was a flange above and below them, so it wouldn't take a USB key I had.

99% of people won't have this issue though.

These days you should really be looking at USB 3.0 key if you want to be carrying it in your pocket for the next year or two.

I got this one for my daughter at college as we only have usb 2. Read speed up to 32MB/sec Write speed up to 18MB/Sec & lifetime warranty.....although it'll probably get lost. It may not be the best deal but it was the only decent transfer speed one I could find at the time.

But yeah as newkie says usb 3 is the way to go

90% of my use for flash drives is putting movies on to play through my dvd player.
£14 for a 32gig is perfect for me, and most others.
    Great BA imo.

Stick it in the back of a saorview or other set top box for silent recording.

I got 1 of the keys that were on living social a while back that were shaped like a key (bit like this), it has terrible write/read speed so not really suitable for using for any files over 100mb in size but it's absolutely in the back of a satellite box for recording or storing EPG data.

Sandisk changed the internals on the Cruzer sticks a few years back, different (inferior) memory controller now. Lucky to get 4MB, when I had access to one, depending on the file type, it could drop to 2MB..

Old Cruzer line were great. Very hardy, but the name has been sullied with the new Blade\Slice models.

    SanDisk taking the piss.

I got a slightly different but similar version (16gb). I tested write speed from ssd to usb and it's 4.20 Mb/s.

Not great at all but does the job I got it to do. Only £6.90. Eligible for supersaver delivery.
