thinking about buying one as a daily driver.

have one lined up to see over the weekend.

what are the main places to look for rust wise?

id be used to older cars but mainly japenese stuff.

could i realistically drive the cortina everyday in all weathers??

    comments and advice welcome

you need to look everyewhere for rust but the Mk5 had better rust proofing than earlier models. Cills, rear wheel arches, front wings and the structures behind them are most susceptible .

you would be able to use it 24/7 but you would also need to keep a close eye on the bodywork and keep it under cover whenever possible as it could disolve before your eyes, especially when the roads are salted. It would be well able to cope with modern traffic but would need more attention to servicing than a modern car
