Saorview in East Meath - signal issues

Hey guys, getting an incredibly pixelated image on my parents saorview box. (unwatchable) The box itself is fine otherwise (it's a combi, fta stations over sat are perfect and menus and stuff for example are fine)

Is it possible the aerial on the roof needs to be adjusted?

It's a bog standard external aerial you see on any rural house - installed on the roof 9 years ago, to pick up the old analog channels at the time.

    EDIT: Just read this: http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/step-2-check-aerial/

Seems like pointing it directly at the mast may help. The box seems to be fine now actually, it's the tuner in the tv that really struggles. I guess I can just tell them to use the box instead of the tv's built in saorview.

Which UHF channel are you receiving Saorview on? The tv & the box.

Hmmm... This morning I'm not receiving a signal at all. I've tried re-scanning on both the tv tuner and the box tuner, and getting absolutely nothing. I haven't changed any cables or anything.

Is there any other troubleshooting you can recommend? I think the channel that was working was 54/55.

54 is Kippure. In Meath I'd suggest trying Clermont Carn on 52.

I'll try, thanks, It's baffling me at this stage. Literally nothing at all since this morning!

Use the Saorview coverage checker to identify the recommended transmitter for your area - http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/coverage-map/
