What are your fast forward moments on TV shows?

I have a lot of TV shows that I like to follow, but as I became more and more familiar with each one, I found that there were sections with a certain structure and/or characters that I found I could gleefully fast forward through.

I've found that you can just zip through identifiable parts of each show and lose nothing in the enjoyment and possibly make it more watchable.

    For example:

    * Any and all family discussions (Margaret and/or the kids plus Nucky) on Boardwalk Empire.

    * The first minute and a half of The Colbert Report, just stopping the fast forward at the tail-end of the "Stephen! Stephen" chanting.

    * Anything with either Eli Gold or Jackie (Peter's mother) on The Good Wife.

    * 95% of the heart-to-heart moments on The Walking Dead.

    * 90% of the interviews on the Daily Show (Colbert's interviews are usually pretty good, but Stewart's tend to be deathly dull).

    * A lot of the chronological flashback stuff on Revenge, especially the psuedo-mystical stuff set in Japan.

Anyone else have parts of shows that they habitually skip through?

I've never been a particular fan of "Friends" but if there is an episode I want to watch I always fast forward past the horrible saccharine theme song

Impromptu sing-songs. The Walking Dead being the most recent with one.

you hit the nail on the head mate, margaret from boardwalk empire can't stand her annoying high pitched voice and the family sceens with the kids are boring, fast foward everytime!

My friend was catching up on the X factor last week skipping all but the songs and the judging. For a 3 hour show he had it watched in 20 mins or so, with the ads and filler removed.

With that he did rewind to laugh at Gary's "private" bollocking to one of his puppets 3 times.

Any scene with Margaret on Boardwalk Empire and Katey Segal's dementia suffering father on Sons of Anarchy.

Any how i met your mother episode not directly related to the overall arc of the show-Find the Fricking Mother Already!!!

Fast-forwarding to the actual start of the Colbert Report is a bit different to skipping whole and individual scenes in scripted dramas. That comes across as a bit sanctimonious.

Oh, I just remembered, I skip Stephen Fry saying "Good Evening" at the start of Qi. I find the elongated good and the repetition of evening really annoying.

shows like Dexter and Boardwalk empire you know exactly that the first 3 minutes can be skipped
some other shows you know that the first 40 seconds can be skipped as its just "previously" and then a few minutes later you have to skip the intro

    Do people actually do this?
I find it unbelievable that anyone could fast forward through actual unseen parts of a show.
Fast forwarding the "previously on" bits is grand though.

"previously on" unless its a season opener and I havent watched the previous season in a while. and "next time on" parts are skipped. other than that I'd find it kinda bizarre to skip through bits of a show you havent watched yet. maybe long credits sequences alright if you're watching a bunch of eps back to back and and dont want to sit through 2 minutes of credits every time. (Game of Thrones being the exception, cos it shows what locations will be in the show, and the music is fantastic)

Pretty much all HBO shows and their long opening title sequences. Same goes for Dexter.
