Hi everyone I use speedtest.net the server location is always Cork, Galway and Dublin. But never waterford. Why is this? These cities are obviously miles apart. I am trying tp increase my ping.
    Thanks in advance.

There may not be a server in Waterford, so you might not be able to select it...

Thanks for the reply. One more question. Who puts the in servers in their respective areas? Is it companies like upc or eircom?

Couple of things to bear in mind ..

Some of the ISPs might announce their IPs as being Cork, Limerick, Waterford even if they're serving users in a different county

As for the speed test - they rely on ISPs / providers giving them access to servers in data centres.

The only locations in Ireland with commercial data centres at the moment (that I'm aware of) are Dublin, Cork and Belfast
