Beginners Jazz Jam? (Dublin City)

    Hi there,

    I'm thinking about organising a jazz jam for musicians who, like me, are relatively new to playing jazz. The plan would be to meet up in a rehearsal room somewhere in the city and play through a few tunes from the Real Book purely for fun. Stuff like Autumn Leaves, All of Me, Blue in Green etc. The atmosphere would be very relaxed (and tempos probably very slow!). Depending on how that goes, down the road we could look into finding a city centre venue that would host us maybe once a month, and where other musicians could come along and sit in.

    I'm an electric bass player, and I guess initially we'd need a drummer, guitarist, keys player, maybe some sort of horn(s). Anyone looking to get into jazz please get in touch! Likewise anyone with a bit of experience who doesn't mind playing with newbies please drop me a line!

    Hi there, just wondering if your still running with this? I'm looking to get into jazz, Ive no gigging experience yet. Busy learning jazz guitar chords and simple tunes (Girl from Ipanema etc). I'm based in D15 and have transport, would love to hear from you.

    Hey there. Just came across this post. Are you still looking for musicians? I played drums for years in my youth and alot of it was jazz and blues. Haven't played in a while but looking to get back into it. PM me if you're interested.

    Hey man. If your still runnin this Im a keys player mainly into blues but love to get a bit of jazz going when I can. would be great to get a jam going.
