Got my Bin Bill today and it was shockingly 430 Euros per year, it
got me thinking of what prices Used to be.

    Anyone remember Bin Tags ?

Back in the Day bins were taken away for free or at least I could never
remember my family paying a bin charge. Only ever at Christmas time my mother would come out and give the bin-men a tin of biscuits or sweets. Then came along bin tags.

For some reason my memory was telling me that these were 50p per tag at
one point in time which would mean it was only 26 Pounds for the Bin year.

At some other point in time I've a memory of my mother sellotaping a 20p coin onto a tag to bring the vaule up to 70p.

Still used in kildare for some operators, but on top of a standing charge too. Works out about the same price if you put out every time it's collected
