ROS online help

    Hello,

I'm doing my self assessment (2011) in the ROS online system and last year made a preliminary payment for 2011. Now I make the accurate calculation online and discover that I have already overpaid for 2011. But the prepopulated form does not allow for this and presents me with a statement of what I owe revenue when it should be the other way round? How does one deal with this? Their phone lines are clogged. Please help if you can.

    Hi

File the return. Do not make a payment and the refund will automatically issue to you.

    Kind Regards

    thanks so much dbran!

Of course I must also make a preliminary payment for 2012 so I can set the amount off against that. I had assumed that the prepopulated online form would make this whole process smoother and more transparent but it has not been worth the considerable hassles involved in setting it up!

If you select "process this return", enter the amount and tick the refund box, you can process your refund online.
