Helped retune in a friend's TV after DSO here in Moira. It is an LG TV (about 2 years old with integrated Freeview). Noticed 2 interesting features after retune:
    (1) RTE Digital stations all appeared crystal clear (from Clermont Carn) but no HD channels although all other Freeview channels appeared (from Divis). Anyone know why this is? I thought RTE digital was received here in NI only with Freeview HD equipment.
    (2) Duplicate channels from both Divis and what I presume is Dromore relay appeared on epg unlike my own Sony set where stronger ones are stored and duplicates do not appear. Anyone know why some sets do this and do you need to pull aerial out of TV during retuning before it reaches the offending multiplex to avoid these channels being stored?

It looks like the tv has a MPEG 4 decoder which will get you Saorview, but no DVB-T2 tuner so unable to pick up Freeview HD channels (sorry it is complicated) This might help: http://www.ukfree.tv/fullstory.php?storyid=1107052034 (see the service and STB type diagram)

The 4 UK HD channels require a FreeviewHD spec receiver or any receiver with a DVB-T2 tuner, the other Freeview channels use DVB-T/MPEG-2.

The Saorview channels from Clermont Carn require a receiver with a DVB-T tuner and MPEG-4 video decoder (many freeview TVs have this by default). The new NImux carrying RTÉ/TG4/RnaG also uses the same standard as the UK HD channels (FreeviewHD/DVB-T2/MPEG-4).

A FreeviewHD spec receiver (dvb-t2/mpeg-4) is backwards compatible with the Freeview (DVB-T/MPEG-2) and Saorview (DVB-T/MPEG-4) channels. So if it's possible to receive all the services thru an aerial north or south of the border a FreeviewHD spec receiver or any receiver with a DVB-T2 tuner is the best option.
