Hi, im looking for some serious help here. I bought a secondhand 1/2 size Valencia violin for my daughter but as i know nothing about them i didn't realise at the time thet there was no bridge to it. Also there is a string missing (which i knew) but i have no clue where to go or how much im looking at to get it repaired. if anyone has any clue where i can get a bridge and a string and where i can get it fixed i would be so so great full. I am from the clare limerick area so somewhere nearby wud be good, galway is a possibility too :) Thanks in advance.

any shop that stocks violins will have spare bridges.

any DECENT shop will check that it's the right size and fit a full set of strings for you oo, even if they do charge a few pennies for their trouble.

violin bridges are readily available on ebay but there are a range of sizes so a real shop where thay can look at it will be slightly more expensive, but well worth it.

Hi, you can get strings in most shops and most will do bridges.

Crehans in Druncondra would be the uber shop for violins in Dublin. After that Valencias main stockist is Waltons but most shops can ge the parts. D'Addarrio do Violin strings for 18 for the set of all of them but you can get cheaper Olympic strings in Waltons.

Also try McCoullagh Piggots (Joe Lynch Music) on South William Street (I think, near Powerscourt)
