    Hi,

Anybody got links or photos of:

What is now T1 in Dublin airport interior photos, from the 70's & 80's
Shannon Airport 70's & 80's. was 2 sections, arrivals and the check in area.

Also, i remember been in Shannon in 86 or 87 and would i be right in saying that you used to go up a stairs to a viewing area? Any photos of this would be great.

    Thanks!

Sorry I don't have photos, but in answer to your question, yes, there was an outdoor viewing area upstairs in Shannon back then.

I spent many a good day there as a kid !

Yeah, funny I was looking for old pics of the shannon terminal yesterday. I remember going to Shannon as a kid avery second year to pick up cousins from New York.

There was along corridor linking check in and arrivals? Somehow from what I remember the old terminal had more character than the current one.

Yes your right, the current arrivals door I think was the sane back at the time you where a kid. That long corridor is still there, duty manager and some FBO offices at oolong it. The corridor went to the old terminal where check in was done and there was the restaurant there too. If my memory is right, it was called the garden restaurant. I am open for correction.
Was a different place back then.

Departures where upstairs I think in the newer section

Yes the Greasy Spoon was down there next to the Lindbergh Room (all you can eat buffet) which was excellent. The Chapel was down there with all check in desks. The long corridor has SRS Aviation Ops, Aer Lingus Personnel & Accounts, SITA Office, APO office and a lost baggage office. Then as you arrived in to the present terminal there was the old Burren Lounge bar. It was real busy in those days alright.
