    Hey

Just got away call from SUSI after sending out an email last night how disappointed I was with the service. I have been calling them every two weeks to keep on top of things and they always kept saying that they have my documents and they are waiting for an assessor to look at them. I have my documents send it for around 2 months now. Now they tried saying that it was lost in the post and never even came even though customer care was there to say that it was received in previous conversations.

What do I do now? Who can I contact to complain cause this is horrible by the time they will have a look at the new forms ill be out of college cause I won't be able to make ends meet.

    Any helps appreciated

EXACT same thing happened to me today! Kept telling me that they have my documents and suddenly when i ring today, they dont have them anymore! I'm absolutely bulling!

Got in touch with the local td and his secretary got on to them! She says theres a supervisor "looking for" them now and i should get a call by tommorow! I actually laughed when i heard that! I really cannot beleive how incompotent these crowd are! Im not holding out much hope of getting any money for at least the next month to be honest!

Well I was on the train when talking to them and got cut off, I'll be sure to ring them tomorrow and I won't be hanging up till I get somewhere.

I'm raging right now. It's enough they stress you to the limit and now this is unacceptable

Contact uour local TDs, your student union education officer and the USI education officer

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Has anyone had any luck. Nearly feel like going down there and finding my documents myself. Rang two TDs and neither are in office lets see if they even get back to my calls. Stressful times for students and their families. Drops outs will be high I suppose it is their plan.

I had no luck with TD so far, I contacted USI Education Offer and waiting for a reply as he/she was out last week.

I rang them for 20 mins the other day saying this is unacceptable, which it isn't, but she kept on saying sorry and I understand repeatedly with no further help.

I'm hoping to get all documents sent out again by tomorrow, but even if they do receive it this week its going to be ages till they look at it again.

They should have left it to local VEC councils, at least when dealing with them I knew I had my grant 1 month before starting college. I had peace of mind and could concentrate on studies and not on budgeting my way through college.

It is terrible that nobody has offered you help at all in the situation. I may as well do the same and gather up all this stuff again it's is bloody annoying. Having to go and ask for all the same documents again. I've two children so I've more to be doing than looking for all this stuff on my day off. Like that too my head is fried I can't even focus on studying when your half starving.

    I'm on the same boat.

Received mail this morning, they want me to send the evidence of independent residence again even though I originally sent them TWO different copies of documents supporting this.

I couldn't even get through over the phone this morning cause line was busy for like 15 minutes straight. This is a joke.

Least it's only the one thing you have to forward on think I will send by registered post this time as I've to send the whole lot birth cert and all. The lines had a bad interference all day there too.

Guys, enough is enough. We can forget getting any help from the USI, they haven't done a thing to help. We need to start going in to the SUSI office in Dublin and DEMAND answers. It seems to all be a delaying tactic to either force drop outs or to hold cash as long as possible. Either way it is those who need it most that are being **** on from a great height and fed with bull**** when they politely ask for answers as to why it is taking so long. For Christ's sake its almost November and the vast majority of people who applied to SUSI still dont know if they are getting a grant!
DISGUSTED WITH OUR STUDENT 'LEADERS' ON THIS ONE....half way through the semester and no grant?
Time for action people. Talking is not working.

Looks likes a delaying tactic alright and it's the people who need the grant most I already know two who have dropped out because of financial hardship. I am lucky enough now to have a level 7 degree however some of the students are only 1st years and adjusting to college can be difficult enough without this added pressure.

You will probably notice that it arrives in a cork sorting office for collection by staff from an outsourced company there so dont panic like i did lol. if that happens just make note of the person signing for it.

Would you believe this happened to me too.

sent away my application on the first day of applications this year.
got word in early august to forward on a few more specifics to them.

so i ring the first week in september to see how its all going and they say, "you've been declined" and they'l send back my important doccuments.

early october and still no returned doccuments, so i call again, and the person down the phone says my doccuments are "lost". so to cut a long story very very short after a very very long time on hold. they had "misplaced" the second lot of doccuments i had sent in and hadn't actually assessed me at all yet, despite being told 2 months earlier i had been declined!

so as of today, i still have no idea if im getting the grant or not.

    very sh1tty service.

Ask them to escalate this to a manager or supervisor. Threaten to ring Joe Duffy.

i dont know if thats sarcasm or not :P

i'm just going to leave them at it, its an utter disaster. why cant we start assesments for the grant in january or something so we know come september where we stand financially.

to be honest i have enough to scrape by, just... no idea how im going to pay the second half of my reg fees in january though. and i dont fancy ringing up and causing aggro with the one bunch of people who might financially support me. best keep the head down maybe.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I've been answering queries here for ages. It seems that if you are demanding SUSI actually seem to get things done a bit quicker
