    At fault for what??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 153 ✭✭bucky08

inside lines... at fault as car driver hit bumper of van and started mouthing as it was van driver fault due to parking so close to car!

Ha what an idiot. Car driver hit van = car driver's fault, even if the car physically wouldn't fit through the gap.

ya was trying to explain that to car driver fault it was a woman and didn't even loose the cool when she hit bumper as van is only a bucket but couldn't get over when car driver started mouthing and drove off with her big L plate for looser

Did the car driver try to take two spaces, and wound up with a tight squeeze to get out? Got what she dererved!

Wont somebody please think of the full stops :(

Is the driver who is complaining, the same driver who took up two spaces? If so, good enough for her. I would have parked as close to her as possible, especially if the van is a "bucket"!

If that was your attitude toward her I'm not surprised she lost get cool.
You really need to read the rules again to find out what L means.
And don't forget, you had a looser plate at one stage.

This thread lacks photos... and proper punctuation

You were wrong to squeeze your van into a space that is too small, irrespective of how the car was parked.

She was wrong for hitting you.

I was feeling sorry for the missing ' in the above sentence (as well as the missing . )

If his van fitted between the lines then the space wasnt too small.

Sounds like she got what she deserved to be honest.

If the van parked such that the car beside couldnt open its door then the space was too small. Doesnt matter that the other car was parked incorrectly; two wrongs do not make a right...

Where else was he supposed to park ?

Anywhere but a space that is too small to fit into properly... If the car park is full then so be it.

And you drove in in your big van, and we know what "White Van Man" can be light.
Could the L plate belong to her daughter or son?
Was the van your Dad's by any chance?

You can't presume anything, by the way you described the parking, I would have presumed you were in the right, though the way you described the "Looser plate", which if you were a gentleman, should have offered to tighten for her, I presume that we need photos! :)

Who says it doesn't matter? Of course it does. If you couldn't slide a sheet of paper between the van and the car then the person who parked inconsiderately I'd have no problem with it.

If she did damage the van, she would also be liable for repair of the van.

If I parked in that situation I'd take photos of the reg, and parking before I left my car...

If you come back, and there's damage, go to the Gardaí... the offending persons car should have corresponding damage
