What form do you use to change the tax class from goods to private?

Passed the DOE this morning, so just the tax to sort now.

I recently changed over my van from commerical to private if that's what you mean and the women behind the tax desk taxed the van privately and sent away the logbook so it would be changed to private. Straight forward enough. I can't remember filling out paperwork but it was a while ago. Hopefully this will help.

This is the case going from goods to private. I suspect there is some change of use declaration needed.

    Hello,

I have a question. I currently have a VW Golf MK4 and it has 5 doors. I have to pay tax of nearly €700 on the car. I wish to change the car to a van ( i.e. lower seats and blackout windows) and have the car re-registered as a commercial. This means that my tax would cost €333. I use the van for work purposes and the car is always used as a van. Can anybody advise me how to go about this? Also will there be any charges involved?

Can't be done any more, IIRC all commercial vehicles now need to be factory made. Do a search it's come up before

    Hello,

Many thanks for your reply. I am a total novice at this and I don't Know what the IIRC is. I have checked out the web and found the Wexford county council website states the follwing:

To renew tax with new situation, e.g: change of address, tax class, engine size etc.

    Completed Declaration Form RF111.
Registration Book/Vehicle Licensing Certificate/New Vehicle Registration Certificate, as appropriate. (If this document is lost, complete Application for Replacement Documents RF134 at a Garda Station in place if it.)
    Appropriate Fee.
In cases of change of engine get the garage to sign, date and stamp the form in section 5.

Are you sure that you can't change a vehicle from private to commercial? Thanks for your help.

    Yes you can do it.
You need to fill out this form and have the van certified by an engineer,
