Ring HID bulbs any good?

The HID's on my Octavia aren't as bright as they should be but I suppose at 10 years old they're bound to be weakening.

I know they are a crazy price here and most people buy online but I was in the local motor factors today and out of curiosity priced them. €110 for a pair of Ring D2S 35 watt - normally you'd be looking at that price for 1 Philips or Osram here.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of Ring HID'S or should I buy Philips/Osram online in the UK for around 90 sterling including postage?

Ring are a long-established English company with a good reputation. I don't know anything about their HIDs, I don't even know if they make their own or market someone else's.

    Hi.
I got d2rs for my car on eBay in England for about 30-40 euros.
I know ebay and all that. But they are working fine for the past year. The pattern is fine aswell.
I don't see how they charge big money for those bulbs.

Thanks Wheelnut and Turrican. Just have to decide whether to shop local, spend roughly the same for better known brands from the UK or buy cheap on e-bay.

Around £35 - £40 each on UK websites. Would be my first choice of known brand.
