I have an integrated Whirlpool fridge-freezer which I bought about 12 years ago. It's been trouble-free until now but I think the fridge thermostat has packed up and the unit is permanently stuck at around zero deg c. I don't have a warranty/service-contract on it so, if I ask Mr Whirlpool to come and fix it, I suspect…

Which begs the inevitable question: should I get the thermostat repaired or consider replacing the unit given that it is now 12 years old?

Thoughts appreciated before I lash out my euros one way or the other....
