Buying ones of these as they are cheap and reliable (based on toyota yaris)

Its a 2007- does anyone know were daihatsu giving their 5 yr warranty back in 2007, or is that a more recent thing?

Last thing- if anyone has owned one..I took it for a test drive, car was cold and when I started it up one of the temperature lights came on in the dash..after about 3-4 mins of driving it went out. Was assured by dealer that this is normal for this car- anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks

Temp light thing is normal I'd say, the yaris does this because there's no gauge. It lights blue if its cold and red if its overheating.

Don't know about the manufacturers warranty, I think it's 3 years.
Even if the car was registered on Christmas Eve (unlikely) there'd only be 2 months left. The garage should be giving 6 months anyway.
