I'm looking for a cheapish laptop, hopefully < €350 but it needs to be reliable.

To be used for: Browsing, emails, word and excel, basic photo editing, storage, dvd burning, watching movies (online and dvds). 15" screen or more.

Would like something light and good battery life.

Don't mind if its a bricks and mortar shop on from online but would prefer a euro site so I know the VAT is paid before delivery.

    Thanks in advance

    15.6" Fujitsu with a Core i3 2310M, €387 at LD.

Just outside your budget, but the best deal around for a somewhat up-to-date laptop. Extensive review here, just discard the gaming performance benchmarks as the tested model had a dedicated Nvidia GT 525M graphics card which is not included in the laptop I have linked.

While i cant suggest any good options, i will say to stay away from the brand Advent.

I made the mistake of buying one of their laptops based on price being cheap when the spec was taken into account.

Just advising you not to get one as you will regret it.

Are Laptops direct an ok company to deal with?

I'm in a similar space here as regards being clueless and wanting a basic, but decent value laptop.

Would the Fujitsu Lifebook AH531 above, or this Packard Bell Easynote TS13 ( http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Packard_Bell_EasyNote_TS13_1194809.html )be a better option at a similar price point? Thanks in advance.

The PB has a slightly faster processor and a bigger HDD, so yes, it appears to be a better deal. The Fujitsu seems to last longer on the battery though.

SOL charges £10 for delivery, not sure what LD is asking for.

Whether you buy from LD, SOL, Dabs or Komplett, they're all OK to deal with.
