May not get anywhere but it is an interesting point about corruption being a bigger issue. Given the rumors of payments to key people and teams being tipped off about testers coming then it's a valid issue.

Greg has def helped Kimmage here even without the specific appeal to help him.

"LeMond states McQuaid knew "damn well what has been going on in cycling, and if you want to deny it, then even more reasons why those who love cycling need to demand that you resign.""

Article is surely Defammation in McQuaids eyes? If he doesnt sue LeMond then it's got to be easier for Kimmage to show it's a personal vendetta against him. Bottom line the likes of McQuaid, in life, are bullies going after easy targets. They don't go after fellow big fish. LeMond is still a relatively big fish.

After listening to McQuaid explaining his reasons for sueing Kimmage a few days ago he really will have no choice but to sue Lemond too, if he wants to preserve whatever small shred of credibility he has left!

Either it's a silly tweet/comment or there's some substance behind it, ie. could be the start of the end-game for McQuaid & his gang (hopefully anyway) :o

Good point raised in all of that. Do people really want to help and rebuild cycling or are we too concerned about ourselves. He says not to buy a USA cycling license. How many here are going to buy a Cycling Ireland license for the coming year? Why not have a mass boycott and nobody get a Cycling Ireland license, nobody get a USA one and the UCI all of a sudden have no choice but to sit up and take notice. I've no idea how they are linked financially or not but it's a good suggestion. Personally I'm all in favour of CI pulling out of any association with the UCI.

So the question is are you going to boycott CI not getting a license are you going to say a balls to that I want my points next year?

I really don't see how boycotting Cycling Ireland would be helpful? I would have thought the influence CI have over the "goings on" in the UCI would be extremely limited!Your CI licence money goes to develop cycling in Ireland and in fairness to them they appear to be doing their best in a very difficult economic climate.

Well any change in the structure of the UCI will necessarily have to be reflected in changes in the National Federation structures and therefore that point needs to be made clear to them also. Whether this is the most effective of way of doing that or not I don't know.

If you basically pull the whole structure down completely across the sport then it could take some time, longer than 1 year, to get agreement over how it should be structured. It may never happen. All the time cycling suffers.

Its getting interesting. Transparency International are getting on the case. They are not a fly-by-night tin pot organisation so it will be interesting to see how long the principals at the UCI can simply pretend its just a few ne'er do wells trying to oust them

Is the Lemond post authentic? He says that he knows nothing about twitter or social marketing and then makes very effective use of it in this post?

He simply put it on facebook in order for others to run with it and spread the word via social media, which seems to have worked well.
