New Fan belt, still noise

    Hello folks,
I had the fan belts replaced in my colt a few weeks ago due to noise in the morning....usual stuff.. No problems until tonight. I left the lights on in the car earlier, started the motor and the noise out of it was unreal. After running for a couple minutes, the area around the alternator was very hot. Any thought? Cheers if you can help.

It probably just needs to be adjusted..

Could it be the bearings on the Alternator?

I've got them replaced a few times on different cars. Usually costs <100 euro from what I remember (provided you can remove the alternator yourself).

Does it happen every time you start the car? If so take it back to the mechanic and show them.

It does yes, I'll do that so.

I wouldn't have a go at removing the alternator myself but thanks for info above and hopefully it's a simple adjustment.
    Cheers.
