Hi, looking for help for a member of my family. After 3 unsuccessful attempts/visits to pull one my of brothers lower back teeth, the dentist cannot do it. He is suffering with weeks & on pain relief which now the dentist can no longer give him as he has been on it so long. He is unemployed with no medical card or medical cover. The dentist is offering no solutions only that they made calls to other dentists & he will have to do it under anastetic. Should he get a letter from his dentist or go to the doctor & can they refer him through A&E. Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Sorry to hear op but realistically you are wasting your time looking for a GA to sort out this tooth in the short to medium term on the public system.
Why can't your dentist do it, is it a difficult extraction or is your brother very nervous and uncooperative or can the dentist not achieve full numbness???
Best to see an oral surgeon, there's very few teeth we can't remove. If nervous and price sensitive, IV sedation is a very good option.
GA on the public system will be slow or never
GA privately will be very expensive

    Food luck,
    OS
