The Australian government is to increase charges across a range of visas by between 25% and 33% by 1 January 2013.

The fee for a Working Holiday visa is set to increase by $70 (€55) to $350, while the cost of a 457 visa is to go up from $350 to $455.

Some partner visas will reportedly jump from $3,060 to around $4,000, while others will rise from $2,060 to around $2,700.

Working Holiday visas and 457 visas are the two main visas used by Irish people travelling to Australia to work.

Sucks for Irish people as $70 isn't really considered a HUGE some of money to Aussie's who are working full-time jobs but €55 to an unemployed Irish person is quite a chunk...unfortunately I think it's only going to get worse.
