    Hi,

So I was in a clothes shop recently, waiting for service, when the person in front of me asked the shop assistant for a form that would allow him to claim back the VAT on the sale as he was only on a short visit to the country. I had never heard of such a thing before but the assistant knew what he was talking about and produced the form.

Anyway, my question is can I do this in the UK? If so, how do I go about reclaiming the VAT on the sale? I'll only be there for a short trip.

    Thanks in advance.

It only applies to tourists from outside the EU.
