    hey guys,

new to this so was looking for some advice on this.

Whats the etiquette on cleaning old medals. I got a 1939-1936 emergency medals which is a bit tarnished ,both the ribbon and the medal itself need a bit of a clean up.

    Whats normally done?

Upon further reading it seems cleaning the medal takes from it. Unlikely I'll clean it

Yes, don't clean it! It will decrease in value otherwise.
