RTE News has described the RTE News Now channel as a new digital channel.

Where have they been for the last two years?

It does have live content, for example, the US presidential debates.

The channel is part of the Saorview setup that launched 18 months ago. It is not new. The fact that it is not on analogue (well nothing is now) does not make it new.
