    Hey everyone.
I'm looking to start learning how to DJ and I'm looking to get myself a decent set of headphones because my old ones just broke. My price range is up to around €200 and was just wondering if any of ye could suggest something?
    Thanks

Bose AE2 Headphones have superb sound quality, are comfortable to wear over long periods, and are ruggedly built to take a lot of abuse. Bose make the headsets that the space shuttle pilots wear. When people tell you Bose products are overpriced, remember, you get what you pay for.

the Sennheisers mentioned are widely used across the industry, and by many top DJs, definitely a recommended purchase.

beats by dre, i think when you are buying headphones the most important thing is colour and style, you really have to think "how cool will i look on the bus with these?" are those school kids going to be jealous, if the answer is no, don't buy the headphones.....oh dude you know what's cool? camoflague.,.... yeah....

MyBose AE2 Headphones cost me 200 euro back in 2006. I use them every day. They still work perfectly. In the same time I've gone through Sennheiser, Koss, AKG Sony and Shure. None last as long or sound as good as the Bose. So far they've worked out at 64c a week over six years. When it comes to headphones, I think I deserve the best.

He's looking for DJing headphones, not commuting headphones.

She's looking for DJing headphones actually. Also I have completely ruled out Bose because from what I've heard they are completely overpriced.

    My bad :)

HD 25-1 ii are your best bet for DJing.

Yeah they are the ones I've been leaning towards. I have one question though, and it's probably a stupid one, but no chance anyone could tell me how long the lead is? Couldn't find it anywhere on the website. :o

1.5m. It's fairly short tbh, I've never found it a problem though.

Speaking as someone who has worked for Bose in the US, I was in the lucky position that I could test every set of their headphones (Including the €1200 Aviation Headset) against the my set (A pair of Pioneer HDJ1000's and HDJ500's)

The Bose are not overpriced for what you are getting. The difference is the frequency response and overall quality of the sound. If you want the best sound, buy Bose. Hands down. However, they are NOT a good set for DJing. They do not give good noise cancellation as the shell's are built purely for acoustics. In a noisy environment, they will be next to useless for DJ work.

My pick for DJ work would be the Seinnheiser or the Pioneer range. However, if you want to be ahead of the game and save your ears, buy these: http://www.shure.com/americas/products/earphones-headphones/se-models/se215-sound-isolating-earphones

In-Ear is the way forward and following the theft of both my Pioneer's in San Fran, I'll be buying in-ear. Far more comfortable and you'll save your ears in the process.

Final note, don't buy Beats. Your paying WAY over the odds for what is effectively a clothing accessory. They are as scientific acoustically as a box of Corn Flakes.

If you have the bose since 2006 and you use them everyday and they work great, why did you buy and "go through" 4 other sets of headphones?

Just a little tip, if you are planning on getting the HD-25-1 ii's the best price i've come across for them has been DJBox.ie. They're located in Tallaght and I recently recommend another Boards member to try them and he said they were brilliant and let him try a few sets out before he made a decision. Might be worth a trip. I've never seen them on display anywhere before. Atleast you can try them out before you buy. But they seem to be industry standard.

    HD25.
The standard 1.5m lead i find is better than the coily one.
