Electric Windows doing their own thing!

The drivers electric window on my 2008 Punto has started moving of it's own accord ! Driving along yesterday morning it started juttering up and down as if I was messing with the button putting it up a bit then down a bit etc. Then it went all the way down and when I tried to close it nothing happened, after a minute I tried the button again and the window closed. This happened a few times - spooked the life out of me - then stopped, drove home yesterday evening and nothing. It happened again this morning for a few minutes then stopped.

I rang the garage who are going to have a look at it said they had never heard of the problem. Anyone had a similar problem? I'm dreading how much this is likely to cost!!!

Happened on my old MG, a combination of a bad earth and water leaking into motor through the window seals.

Edit: Cost about €60 to fix for new seal and new earth connections.

Cold/damp mornings? Condensation getting in affecting the motor/connections?

Few years ago I had a '00 Focus and in the mornings the central locking would unlock every door bar the drivers door. Once it was warmed up it was fine.

Only ever when it was cold and damp.

That's not really a Fiat, that's a Corsa you got...

    A normal Fiat wouldn't do that ;)

Edit: Found the link. It was a problem I suffered too, it might help you :)
