Hi folks, I work with an amateur theatre group, and we are looking for a wireless communication solution. We travel around various venues in the All Ireland drama festivals, and many do not have wired in comms. we have a budget of about €500

We have tried budget walkie talkies, but the quality is generally poor, and they only work when you talk quite loud... No good during a show. I am considering trying these as an option http://www.maplin.co.uk/professional-pmr446-hp450-2a-222219... But would they be any better?

Or is there an option that I'm missing?

    Thanks,
    Bob

    no.
Those are no different to €30 per pair Lidl ones with a headset added.

Yes, consider going the licensed option. You can get suitable sets with a "whisper" function which will not require users to talk loudly into the microphone during a live performance.

Perhaps a good throat mic set?
