my mum has UPC broadband at home. super fast/ no problems and costs about 45eur a month. Its part of a TV package/combo thing that we are gonna downgrade. The internet package is basicaly unnecessary. She has an ipad and likes occassional browsing but data usage would be very limited. (Although we'd like the option to stream a movie maybe once a year - have internet generally available in the house!!!) Is there a prepaid or a cheap (20eur per month) home BB package that is suitable for this type of usage. Although its for use with the ipad, its just for home use - no requirement for it to be mobile.

    tnx

Well to be honest the UPC service is the best value out there, you could try downgrade to a lower speed perhaps

Marcus, your situation is probably typical of MANY houses that currently have UPC broadband...... I have raised this point here.

There are some other - I prefer not to use the word competiting as they suit a different demographic - broadband packages (not as cheap as €20 though) mentioned here.

I have used that one and the Vodafone alternative from time to time and they are fine.

But you are of course dependent on the signal quality in your area. I am nearly sure that some of the suppliers will let you try one for a couple of days before you commit.

I's not "unlimited" either...it has a very low limit and they throttle you if you go over the limit...

The "Three Mifi" package has a 16gb monthly limit for 20eur on an 18mth contract.. Surely this would be enough for daily browsing and maybe the odd Netflix film ( 2-4 a month )???
